Crom Estate - About

Crom Estate is a nature reserve located on the shores of upper Lough Erne. This beautiful 1,900 acre demesne, with the combination of serene islands and ancient woodlands, makes for a peaceful and romantic stay.

Adding to this Estate’s tranquillity, is its abundance of wildlife. And you have the opportunity to appreciate nature here with fishing, walks through the woodlands or bird watching.

There is plenty to keep you occupied. Why not experience the beautiful surroundings on a boat trip, or explore the historic buildings?

For accommodation you can stay at the Crom Castle West Wing, as the rest of the Castle is still occupied by Lord and Lady Erne.

The present structure was built in 1820 and has been home to the Crichton family ever since. However the estate is run by the National Trust.

You can find more information on booking accommodation at

You can also stay at one of the holiday cottages, or even at a campsite. From here you can visit other local tourist attractions such as the Marble Arch Caves, Florence Court and Castle Coole.

In 2012, BBC comedy Blanding was filmed at Crom Castle which included actors such as Jennifer Saunders, David Walliams, Timothy Small and Mark Williams.
