The Marbel Arch Caves Global Geopark opened as a tourist attraction in 1985, and in 2001 became one of the first Geoparks to be designated in Europe.
The Marble Arch cave is one of the finest in Europe. The tour of the cave includes a 1.5km walk and also a 10 minute boat journey inside. Also, within the cave there are a few sets of steps which will allow you to exit.
The caves aren’t the only facilities for tourists. For example, you could visit Moneygashel Cashel, Tully Castle, Castle Archdale Forest, and Drumvale Abbey. And these are only a few areas, as the Geopark consists of over 30 discrete areas of land.
As well as visiting these attractions, there are also many activities for visitors, including cycling, walking, fishing, caving and canoeing and cruising.
