The Palace Demesne Public Park is an ideal place to visit as it is a walking distance from the city centre and is situated right behind Armagh City Hotel.
The Demesne, which is about 300 acres, was the home of the Archbishops of the Church of Ireland from 1770 to 1975.
This 200 year old parkland is a great place to take the family as it contains a playpark, outdoor gym, and many different walks. It also contains a restaurant and coffee shop called the Moody Boar.
A popular feature here is the beautiful ‘Garden of the Senses’. Here, visitors can relax in a setting of serenity. Another feature of interest, found at the entrance, is the 13th century Franciscan Friary.
Summer Tours are available were you can learn more about the history and story of the Palace Demesne Public Park. The Grounds are also very popular for wedding photography.
