Situated on the hill of Armagh, St. Patrick’s Cathedral overlooks much of the city. The Cathedral contains many interesting features such as sculptures from the Iron Age to the 21st century and an 11th century Celtic Cross. It is also the burial place of Brian Boru, who was the High King of Ireland, and lived from 924 to 1014 AD.
This Church was founded by Saint Patrick in 445 AD, and although it has been renovated several times, it has still kept the basic structure devised by Archbishop O’Scanlon in the 12th Century.
